Dancing to the wedding

The big day is 10 days away. Nine-and-a-half by 10:30 p.m. tonight.

Wow, what an adventure! More on this journey later on. Allicia and I had a different adventure on Monday. We took dance lessons!

I knew I was going to miss WWE Tough Enough and possibly the first few minutes of RAW that night, but I was looking forward to the dance lessons anyways (thank God for the DirecTV dvr!). I'm not a very good dancer, but in college I took a semester of ball room dancing.

I think I did very well in that ballroom dancing class, but there was one problem: I never had anyone to dance with. So sadly, my skills deteriorated over the natural course of dateless time.

However, when Allicia and I started planning the wedding, the one thing we really wanted was dancing. I'd never been to a wedding with dancing, but always thought they looked cool. And damnit, since it's my wedding day, I want dancing!

So off we went to dance classes at Arthur Murray. The first one was free, then we ended up getting two lessons while Allicia's parents purchased four for themselves. And wow, did I have fun!

Allicia and I learned basic dance positions from a guy named Luke (no lie, that dude was hot!), then the Rumba and some country western thing where you rock back and forth. She looked so beautiful dancing with me, it made me dream about the wedding reception even more!

I really hope the next two lessons get us in dance shape. I know we won't be John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John by the big day, but it's nice to know some basics.

But this time, I won't forget. I'll have someone to dance with for many years.
